About Ram sita Vivah Mandap (Marriage Place)
Numerous pilgrims come to the Ram Janaki Vivah Mandap, the location of Ram and Sita’s wedding, during Vivah Panchami to honour Sita. The fifth day of the Shukla Paksha, or waxing phase of the moon, in November or December is traditionally observed as Sita and Ram’s wedding day. In the southwest corner of the Janaki Mandir, there is a stunning marble building called the mandap. With its strong pillars, graceful arches, and beautiful domes, it resembles a portion of a palace.
The legendary wedding ritual is represented in the mandap’s centre. While some sages and their parents are shown seated on parallel pedestals facing each other, the idols of the couple, Goddess Sita and Lord Rama, are depicted sitting on an elevated pedestal in the centre. The colourful costumes that the celebrities are wearing evoke an earlier royal festival. The temple’s serene atmosphere can be enjoyed while devotees give their prayers and sit in peace. Visit the Ram Sita Vivah Mandap if you want a glimpse of this historical union.
