About Ramayana Circuit
Ramayana Circuit is one of the fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry has initially identified fifteen destinations including Sitamarhi, Bihar for development under the Ramayana Circuit theme namely Ayodhya, Nandigram, Shringverpur & Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh), Sitamarhi, Buxar & Darbhanga (Bihar), Chitrakoot (Madhya Pradesh), Mahendragiri (Odisha), Jagdalpur (Chattisgarh), Nashik & Nagpur (Maharashtra), Bhadrachalam (Telangana), Hampi (Karnataka) and Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu).

Ayodhya

In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the city of Ayodhya is situated on the banks of the revered river Saryu. It serves as the administrative centre for the Faizabad district and division in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Nandigram

Nandigram is a census town located in the Haldia subdivision's Nandigram I Community Development Block in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, India.

Shringverpur

In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the village of Shringaverpur is located on the Lucknow Road 45 kilometres from Allahabad. Folklore has it that Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana crossed the Ganges at Shringaverpur on their way to exile. On the river's banks is the village.

Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot District is one of the districts in the Bundelkhand region of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and Chitrakoot Town serves as the district centre. The Chitrakoot Division includes the Chitrakoot district.

Sitamarhi

The district headquarters of the Sitamarhi district in the Mithila region of Bihar, Sitamarhi is located in India and is a part of the Tirhut Division. It is thought to be the location where Janaka discovered Sita and dates back to the time of the Ramayana.

Buxar

Even before the time of the Ramayana, Buxar had a long and rich history. It has been claimed that VyaghraSar is where the word Buxar originated.

Darbhanga

Darbhanga, city, northern Bihar state, northeastern India. It lies just to the east of the Baghmati River, a tributary of the Ganges (Ganga) River.

Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot is a pilgrimage centre and a nagar panchayat in the Satna district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Connected to the Indian epic Ramayana, it is a place of religious, cultural, historical and archaeological importance, situated in the Baghelkhand region.

Mahendragiri

Mahendragiri is a mountain located in Odisha, India's Rayagada block of the Gajapati district. It is 1,501 metres above sea level and situated among the Eastern Ghats.

Jagdalpur

Located in the tribal district of Bastar in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Jagdalpur is a city. The former kings of the area constructed the elaborate Bastar Palace on the banks of the Indravati River.

Nashik

Western Indian state of Maharashtra contains the historic holy city of Nashik. It is well known for its connections to the epic poem "Ramayana." The Panchavati temple complex is located on the Godavari River.

Nagpur

Maharashtra, a state in central India, contains the sizable city of Nagpur. The 19th-century Nagpur Central Museum features local finds like sarcophagi, Mughal weapons, and fossils.

Bhadrachalam

Bhadrachalam is a town in the Telangana region of south India that is popular among Hindus as a place of worship. The expansive Bhadrachalam (or Sita Ramachandraswamy) Temple complex, which is dedicated to Lord Rama and features numerous elaborate carvings, is located alongside the Godavari River.

Hampi

In the south Indian state of Karnataka is the historic village of Hampi. Numerous Vijayanagara Empire temple complexes in ruins can be found all over the place. The 7th-century Hindu Virupaksha Temple is located close to the revitalised Hampi Bazaar on the south bank of the River Tungabhadra.

Rameshwaram

The town of Rameswaram is located on Pamban Island in Tamil Nadu, a state in southeast India. It is well-known for the Ramanathaswamy Temple, a Hindu shrine with elaborate passageways, enormous sculptured pillars, and holy water tanks. On the beach east of the temple, in the waters of Agni Theertham, devotees take baths.
