Shri Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple, Vrindavan
About Shri Radhavallabh Lal Ji Temple, Vrindavan
RadhaVallabh Temple is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Vrindavan. It is a representation of the perfect love that Lord Krishna and Radha Rani have, which is frequently referred to be the rarest type of “Ras Bhakti.” The RadhaVallabh sect’s main shrine upholds the belief that Radha Rani is the supreme deity. The old temple building, now known as “Hit Mandir,” was built in the 16th century by Sundardas Bhatnagar with the support of Goswami Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu, the founder of the RadhaVallabh Sect, with royal approval.
Radha Rani is the main deity of the temple, yet there isn’t an idol of the Goddess wherever to be found. In order to emphasise that Lord Krishna and Radha Rani have two distinct bodies but are connected by a single spirit, the temple contains an idol that is thought to represent both of them. Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha are combined in the term “RadhaVallabh.” Near Shri RadhaVallabh’s idol, a crown serving as the embodiment of Goddess Radha is visible. According to a common misconception, only someone who is devoted and pure of heart is able to receive the holy darshan of the idol.

The History and Architecture
According to mythology, Lord Shiva honoured the ancestor of Shri Atmadev Brahman’s devotion to the Lord by giving him the idol of Shri RadhaVallabh ji. The same idol was then given to Shri Hit Harivansh Mahaprabhu, who set it up on the steep cliff known as the “Oonchi Thaur” on the Yamuna River’s side. The ancient Shri Radhavallabh ji Temple building is a protected monument, and its design exudes a spirit of religious and spiritual tolerance. It is one of the few instances where Hindu and Mughal architectural styles have been combined.
